Our triple room was very big, the beds are big too and very confortable. The clean the room every day. There is a bar inside the hostel, very cute, and they serve food and drinks all the time. There is also a cocktail happy hour in the evening.
The tours proposed by the hostel are a little bit expensive, you can find cheapest tours in other travel agencies if you have time.

Reception staff was very helpful and they also offer convinient travel services. They provide free luggage storage in case you want to go for a trip in Yangshuo or Yangji and you dont want to carry all your bags. The hostel is preffered by westerners and the atmosphere at the lobby is good.
The bathroom could have been cleaner and generaly speaking the room could have been in better condition. The matresses were very hard.

The staff were friendly and very helpful. They have very nice tours that you can choose. The position is good and all the price are more than reasonable even breakfast, lunch and dinner. You get more that what you pay, but remember that it still an hostel! Good choice especially for backpackers.
Instead of having wi-fi only the lobby would be much better to have the wi-fi even in the bedroom (at least in the private room). I had a private room and I can complain only about 2 things: the mattress is "Chinese style" (very very hard) and the bathroom is a little bit too dark.

Backstreet was absolutely excellent. We have moved on today and aee very sad to be leaving. The staff were friendly and helpful, making us feel completely at home. The social area was well designed and is a lovely place to enjoy the free wifi and cheap beer. They also run free events such as dumpling making which allow you to meet other guests. The rooms are spacious, the food plentiful and tasty and the shower hot. What more could you want!

the staff speak english very well, and i liked the location. the common area was also very nice and comfortable.
i didn't like that the bathroom was right in the room - that housed 7 beds, so anytime someone used it at night or in early morn (like i do) it disturbs the other sleepers. and i didn't like sharing a windowless room with so many people. But i'd really like to tell you all the things i didn't like about the city and why i wouldn't put it on my list of recommended places, but that is not the question.

This place was right beside the famous Li River and just steps away from the Pedestrian Street, Guilin Square, the two Pagodas, and Solitary Beauty Peak. Was able to do just about everything in Guilin within a day. The staff were also very lovely and helped out with our trip. I had a very fun and memorable time! Thanks for everything!
